About The Position

This position requires maintaining expertise across all CVI specialties while supporting departmental goals related to staffing, budgeting, productivity, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. The role partners with leadership to recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate staff, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and a strong focus on patient satisfaction, safety, and experience. Additionally, the individual serves as a professional role model, participates in committees and meetings, supports service excellence initiatives, and contributes to continuous operational and clinical improvement.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Three years of procedural experience in Cardiac Cath lab, EP, Interventional Radiology, or Interventional Neurology required
  • Must have a minimum of 3 to 4 years of progressively responsible hospital procedural technologist experience
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography registration
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA-DNS) Radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required within three (3) months
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by AHA required within six (6) months
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by AHA required within six (6) months
  • Ability to follow both written and oral instructions accurately and consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains competence in all specialties in CVI
  • Ability to work within the budget and productivity targets to meet organizational objectives
  • Participates in & supports staffing plans including recruitment, retention, orientation/training, education, development, competency evaluations, and scheduling
  • Supports & partners with leadership team and ensures knowledge, skills, and behaviors of staff are consistent and in alignment with the goals of the unit
  • Accountable for achieving patient satisfaction (Press Ganey and HCAHPS) action plans to achieve organizational and departmental targets
  • Supports process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change
  • Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards
  • Participates in hospital and department meetings and committees
  • Demonstrates ability to develop and mentor staff and colleagues
  • Leads by example, consistently demonstrating highly professional behavior, personal and professional accountability, and holds others to the same
  • Serves as a role model and coach for Critical Moments of Service Standards and service recovery
  • Utilizes critical thinking in regard to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates via the chain of command.
