About The Position

Emory Healthcare is seeking a capable Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse / CVICU / RN for the Internal Travel Team. This role involves caring for patients with broad experience and a sound understanding of a particular patient population. The nurse will routinely use acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations. The position delivers safe, dependable, and effective care independently utilizing the nursing process. The nurse will apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, personalizing care for each patient/family. Effective and respectful communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams is essential. Accurate documentation of the nursing process is required. Patient/family input and goals will be utilized in planning the plan of care, and the patient's response to planned care will be evaluated and adjusted as appropriate. The nurse will recognize needs and advocate for patients based on their condition and consider cultural differences in developing patient and family relationships.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • 2.5 years of recent experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CIVCU) within past five years
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, FHM (relevant to role) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in at least 1 relevant specialty area preferred.
  • Completion of professional certification in relevant specialty area required within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers safe, dependable and effective care to a patient population independently utilizing the nursing process
  • Able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Documents the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format (e.g. computer, clinical pathway, chart)
  • Utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care
  • Evaluates patient's response to planned care and adjusts plan of care as appropriate.
  • Recognizes needs and advocates for patient based on knowledge of condition
  • Recognizes that cultural differences need to be considered in developing patient and family relationships (focus on identifying cultural norms)
