About The Position

This is a first-assist surgical Advanced Practice Provider role inside a busy, full-service cardiothoracic program in Naples, Florida. You will be in the OR for CABG, valve procedures, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, esophageal surgery, and more, then following your patients through the post-op ICU. Requirements

Active PA-C/NCCPA certification
DEA registration
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Minimum 2 years of CT surgery experience
Vein harvesting experience (required)
Demonstrated surgical exposure across: CABG/bypass, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, esophageal surgery, first-assist in OR, post-op ICU management, and chest tube management
Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider program
Board certification in area of specialty (board-eligible candidates considered with commitment to obtain certification within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

First-assist in cardiothoracic surgical cases including CABG, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, and esophageal surgery
Perform vein harvesting independently
Manage post-operative patients in the ICU including chest tube management and hemodynamic support
Take rotating call coverage
Collaborate with the surgical team and interdisciplinary staff to develop and implement patient care plans
Deliver direct patient care under approved protocols with physician supervision
Document patient care accurately in Epic and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families
Participate in quality improvement, performance evaluation, and continuing education activities
Contribute to policy development and clinical program growth as the department expands
