Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
Valid medical license to practice in the state of Nebraska
Completion of an accredited residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Strong surgical skills and proficiency in cardiothoracic procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Commitment to continuous education and professional development
Experience with patient management and care in a surgical setting
Board-certified
Experience with standard cardiac surgery, heart cases, ECMO cannulation, aortic dissections, and CABG

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine optimal patient care plans
Monitor patient progress post-surgery and provide follow-up care
Participate in consultations and pre-operative assessments
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Educate patients and families regarding treatment options
Stay updated with advancements in cardiothoracic surgery
Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in medical practice
Hospital rounds on CTS patients
OP and IP consults
OR coverage for cardiac surgery
Some thoracic trauma coverage
