Cardiac Associates seeks to hire an experienced Nurse Practitioner who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Nurse Practitioner you will diagnose and treat work-related injuries and illnesses within the ARNP scope of practice, monitor the course of treatment, and make referrals to other health care providers as necessary. You will also coordinate care/case management, including collaboration with medical consultants and other healthcare/rehabilitation providers, attorneys, the employee’ supervisor, and the employee. Additionally, you will diagnose and treat non-work-related injury and illness that requires limited follow up and falls under ARNP scope of practice. This role also involves fitness for duty evaluation and screening, including modified duty and appropriate restrictions as warranted by evaluation, unable to work and return to work protocols. You will initiate therapy for various conditions including musculoskeletal, dermatologic, and infectious diseases, as well as treat conjunctivitis, corneal abrasion, and non-imbedded foreign bodies of the eye. You will also manage minor chronic problems or illnesses within your scope of practice. Treatments that may be initiated include diet, activity, exercises, counseling, education, safety and general health promotion and maintenance activities. You will order routine and emergent laboratory studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, audiometry, and any other lab test determined to be medically necessary. X-ray testing for diagnosis of fractures, infections, and skeletal dislocation will also be part of your duties. You will apply splints, immobilizers, slings, and ice or heat therapy. ACLS protocol may be initiated to the full extent of available equipment depending on client condition and judgment. Pharmacologic measures you may initiate, dispense, monitor, and alter or order include over-the-counter drugs and prescription drugs in various categories such as anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, analgesia, vaccinations, laxatives, emergency drugs per ACLS protocol, antihistamines, antiemetics, local anesthesia, antispasmotics, bronchial dilators, metered dose inhalation therapies, anti-tussives, decongestants, expectorants, otic and ophthalmic preparations, topical steroids, anti-fungals, muscle relaxants, antihypertensives, diuretics, oral hypoglycemics, injectable hypoglycemics, injectable insulin preparations, thyroid replacement therapy, vitamin therapy, iron therapy, and antacids. You will participate in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities, demonstrate accurate documentation and monitoring of activities, and support quality standards and initiatives. You will follow CDC isolation guidelines, infection control practices, demonstrate appropriate use of PPE, conduct handwashing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations.
