About The Position

Cardiac Associates seeks to hire an experienced Nurse Practitioner who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Nurse Practitioner you will diagnose and treat work-related injuries and illnesses within the ARNP scope of practice, monitor the course of treatment, and make referrals to other health care providers as necessary. You will also coordinate care/case management, including collaboration with medical consultants and other healthcare/rehabilitation providers, attorneys, the employee’ supervisor, and the employee. Additionally, you will diagnose and treat non-work-related injury and illness that requires limited follow up and falls under ARNP scope of practice. Fitness for duty evaluation and screening, including modified duty and appropriate restrictions as warranted by evaluation, unable to work and return to work protocols are also part of your responsibilities. You will initiate therapy for various conditions including Musculoskeletal, Dermatologic, and Infectious diseases, as well as minor chronic problems or illnesses. Treatments that may be initiated include diet, activity, exercises, counseling, education, safety and general health promotion and maintenance activities. Routine and emergent laboratory studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, audiometry, X-ray testing, and application of splints, immobilizers, slings, ice or heat therapy are also within your scope. ACLS protocol may be initiated to the full extent of available equipment. You will also initiate, dispense, monitor, and alter or order pharmacologic measures including over the counter drugs and specific categories of prescription drugs. You will participate in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities, demonstrate accurate documentation and monitoring of activities, and support quality standards and initiatives. You will follow CDC isolation guidelines, infection control practices, demonstrate appropriate use of PPE, conduct handwashing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Master’s degree, and postgraduate training in a clinical specialty are required
  • Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP), and state authority for advanced practice required
  • Current Maryland license from the Board of Nursing
  • Provides a copy of privileges he/she is permitted by licensure and maintains eligibility to participate in the Medicare Program

  • 2 years’ clinical experience strongly preferred
