About The Position

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Cardiology practice in the St. Matthews area. This is a First Shift/Full Time position. Eligible for a $2000 Sign-On Bonus (reserved for new hires meeting eligibility criteria). The role focuses on managing patient flow for an exceptional patient experience, ensuring accurate and up-to-date medical records, and providing direct patient care under the direction of a Physician/Provider. Requirements

Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT
Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
Basic Life Support
RMA, CMA, Medical Assistant, LPN, Certified Medical Assistant Work Experience
Education

Responsibilities

Manages the coordination and flow of patients throughout their visit to create an exceptional patient experience.
Proactively checks the provider’s schedule and reviews information within the patient record to ensure that all required information is available prior to their visit.
Proactively obtains any missing information from the patient to ensure that medical records are accurate and up to date.
Captures patient’s vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage and preferred pharmacy information.
Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
Responds to patient call backs and phone-in prescription refill requests.
Administers medication and injections, as directed by Physician/Provider.
Performs phlebotomy on patients, as directed by the Physician/ Provider.
Performs EKG’s, PFT’s spirometry, nebulizer treatments and ear irrigations, and other procedures, as required by the practice and directed by the Physician/Provider.
Performs in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by the physician/provider.
Performs sterilization on instruments used for minor procedures/surgeries according to the CDC recommended guidelines.
Maintains all certifications/licensures as required by the scope of the role being performed.
