About The Position

The Cardiac Device Technician manages remote monitoring, patient communication, and clinical support for cardiac implantable devices. This role collaborates with the device clinic team and providers through review of device data, document findings, and ensuring timely patient follow-up. Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Some post-secondary education or clinical certification (i.e. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), LPN, EMT, RCVT) required.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, conduction system, and ability to interpret cardiac arrhythmias required.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care required.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills required.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cardiac arrhythmia experience preferred.
  • Cardiac device experience preferred.
  • Associate's degree in biology, physiology, healthcare, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of ECG interpretation to be able to identify emergent situations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all tasks related to transtelephonic and remote monitoring of cardiac devices and arrhythmia patients including scheduling appointments, recording and reporting results.
  • Collaborates with the Clinic Manager, Lead, Providers and CIED staff to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Data entry of new, transferring and existing device patients.
  • Phone triage and prescription refills.
  • Will train on pacemaker and ICD interrogation, evaluations, troubleshooting, downloading and evaluating remote device interrogations.
  • Create reports on device evaluations performed in ancillary department and outreach clinics and by company representatives.
