About The Position

The Cardiology ambulatory team member integrates with the patient, family, and provider in the care of the patient in the ambulatory setting. Responsible for the assessments of patients, documentation of such assessments, and completion of any received orders according to the defined practice guidelines and EHR protocols. Accountable for assuring the delivery of quality nursing care for the designated patients of PHI in accordance with patients’ needs, providers' orders, defined plan of care, policies, and standards of practice. The range of practice will be in the form of direct/indirect patient care, result management, in-basket management, telephone triage, patient education, or any other duty deemed necessary by leadership. Together with the patient, the provider and other members of the ambulatory team, incorporates multiple data sources (EHR, MyChart, etc.) to strengthen communication and collaboration by delivering timely appropriate care with an emphasis on service excellence. Acts in accordance with all established policies and procedures, American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, Indiana Nurse Practice Act, and the ANA Code of Ethics.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA))
  • Completion of new hire orientation, patient care orientation, and office specific orientation
  • Valid Indiana Registered Nurse nursing license
  • Willingness to obtain Ohio state nursing license if deemed necessary by leadership
  • CPR certification
  • ACLS certification REQUIRED
  • 2 years' experience in a medical setting
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Medical terminology and pharmacology background
  • Essential computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records

  • Cardiology experience ideal
  • Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms is preferred
