About The Position

This role involves providing high-impact cardiovascular care in Hilo, Hawaii. The Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) will conduct patient evaluations, manage cardiovascular conditions, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and collaborate with a healthcare team. The position also includes patient education, care coordination, and participation in hospital rounds and discharge planning.

Requirements

Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii, or eligibility to obtain one
National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
BLS and ACLS certification required
EMR experience (Epic or equivalent preferred)

Nice To Haves

1–2 years cardiology or internal medicine experience preferred; strong new graduates with relevant rotations or RN cardiology background considered
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable working independently with physician support

Responsibilities

Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients
Manage and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and hyperlipidemia
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, and stress tests
Assist in care coordination for procedures or specialty referrals
Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable)
Participate in hospital rounds, discharge planning, and transitions of care
Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes, medications, and disease management
Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists, primary care providers, and support staff
