About The Position

The Cardiologist specializes in diagnosing, managing, and following patients with suspected or known heart disease. This role is part of a clinical care team focused on outpatient medicine, continuity of care, health maintenance, and disease prevention for elderly patients. The Cardiologist manages complex cardiac conditions, including heart attacks, abnormal heart rhythms, and congestive heart failure, and provides preventive care to address potential heart-related illnesses.

The position is 100% clinically focused on direct patient care, including patient-facing time and administrative work such as charting when related to direct care. Work involves moderately complex to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors. This is a patient-facing role covered by Humana/Senior Bridge’s tuberculosis screening program; the selected candidate must undergo TB screening.

Requirements

• Medical degree and 5+ years of residency and fellowship experience.
• Meet the licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction.
• Graduate of an accredited MD or DO program at an accredited university.
• Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a certificate of special qualification in cardiovascular disease.
• Certification by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine with a certificate of special qualification in echocardiography.
• Must complete tuberculosis screening if selected for this patient-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, manage, and provide follow-up care for patients with suspected or known heart disease.
• Provide outpatient cardiac care, continuity of care, health maintenance, and disease prevention for elderly patients.
• Manage complex cardiac conditions, including heart attacks, abnormal heartbeat rhythms, and congestive heart failure.
• Provide preventive techniques for potential heart-related illnesses.
• Perform direct patient care and related administrative work, including charting.
