About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Physician specializing in General & Interventional Cardiology in Fort Smith, AR. The role is inpatient and coverage is call-only, starting ASAP and continuing through December 31, 2027. The reason for coverage is supplemental. The support staff includes 2-3 APPs. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency. The average daily patient volume is 30-40, with rounding on unassigned patients. The case mix includes Cardiology and Interventional cases. The facility has 203 beds and is a Trauma Level III. The EMR system is Epic.
Requirements
- BC (General) and BE (Interventional)
- AR License
- ACLS Certification
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient cardiology consultations, rounding and management for hospitalized patients.
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures as required.
- Manage in-house call for cardiology emergencies, including acute coronary syndromes.
- Interpret and read echocardiograms.
- Perform interventional cardiology procedures as needed.
- Respond to STEMI calls within 30 minutes and other calls within 20 minutes.
- Collaborate with team to cover rotating shifts including days, weekends, and nights.
