The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist 2 works with physicians to diagnose and treat diseases or defects of the heart and blood vessels by using the echoes of sound waves to create images. This role involves searching for abnormalities in blood flow sounds, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and the appearance of the heart. The technologist will position patients, explain procedures, perform quality control, evaluate ultrasounds for diagnostic quality, and prepare medical supplies using aseptic techniques. Additionally, they will develop ultrasound film, match it with paperwork, assist with data compilation, and provide training to new technologists. Adherence to University and unit-level policies and procedures is expected, along with safeguarding University assets.
