About The Position

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, a 198-bed non-profit facility, is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry Nurse to provide exceptional, compassionate healthcare. The Cardiac Telemetry Nurse will care for patients with an emphasis on heart issues, assessing patient/family health, and developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans. This role is vital in promoting optimal health outcomes by balancing patient needs and comfort, demonstrating accountability for ethical behavior, and supporting ethical practices through astute issue resolution. The position involves providing comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care, organizing and prioritizing patient activities with precision. The nurse will serve as a patient advocate through holistic care practices, recognizing and adapting swiftly to changes in patient conditions. Daily functions include utilizing the SBAR format for physician notification, performing bedside nurse-to-nurse reports, participating in process and quality improvement activities, delegating tasks appropriately, and involving patients/families in their care plans using therapeutic communication while maintaining cultural sensitivity. Excellent written and interpersonal communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to recognize scope of practice by seeking multidisciplinary collaboration and utilizing appropriate resources are essential for success in this dynamic role.

Requirements

  • One (1) year RN experience
  • ADN, Diploma, or foreign equivalent
  • Current AZ State RN license in good standing
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication
  • Basic computer skills

  • BSN
  • One (1) year medical/surgical intensive care experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues
  • Documents assessments, reassessments and all nursing interventions within established timeframes
  • Uses knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs
  • Assess patient/family health problems and resources
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive nursing care plans
  • Promote optimal health outcomes by balancing patient needs and comfort
  • Support ethical practices through astute issue resolution
  • Serve as a patient advocate through holistic care practices
