About The Position

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, a 198-bed non-profit facility, is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry Nurse to provide exceptional, compassionate healthcare. As a Cardiac Telemetry Nurse, you will care for Telemetry patients, with a focus on those with heart issues. This role involves assessing patient/family health, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and promoting optimal health outcomes. You will demonstrate accountability for ethical behavior, organize and prioritize patient activities, and serve as a patient advocate. Swift adaptation to changes in patient conditions, utilization of SBAR for physician notification, and performing bedside nurse-to-nurse reports are critical. Participation in process and quality improvement activities, appropriate delegation, and involving patients/families in care plans through therapeutic communication are also key. Excellent written and interpersonal communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to seek multidisciplinary collaboration are essential for success in this dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • One (1) year RN experience
  • ADN, Diploma, or foreign equivalent
  • Current AZ State RN license in good standing
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to recognize scope of practice by seeking multidisciplinary collaboration and utilizing appropriate resources

  • One (1) year medical/surgical intensive care experience

Responsibilities

  • Care for Telemetry patients with an emphasis on patients with heart issues.
  • Assess patient/family health problems and resources.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive nursing care plans.
  • Promote optimal health outcomes by balancing patient needs and comfort.
  • Demonstrate accountability for ethical behavior, and support ethical practices through astute issue resolution.
  • Provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care.
  • Organize and prioritize patient activities with precision.
  • Serve as a patient advocate through holistic care practices.
  • Recognize and adapt swiftly to changes in patient conditions (e.g., lab results, vitals).
  • Utilize the SBAR format for physician notification.
  • Perform bedside nurse-to-nurse reports.
  • Participate in process and quality improvement activities.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Involve patients/families in their care plans using therapeutic communication.
  • Maintain cultural sensitivity.
  • Document assessments, reassessments and all nursing interventions within established timeframes.
  • Use knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs.
