About The Position

The Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse provides care to patients with heart conditions, continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms with telemetry equipment. The role includes assessing patients, administering medications, and responding promptly to changes in condition and cardiac emergencies. The nurse works closely with the healthcare team and educates patients about managing their heart health.

The position is based in Seneca, South Carolina. It is a traveler contract scheduled for night shifts, three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Floating is required if needed, call is required, and weekend coverage is every other weekend, though this may change based on need.

Requirements

• Two years of ER experience required.
• One year of EPIC experience required.
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions.
• Required certificates: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Skills in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, remote telemetry monitoring, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Experience with medication systems Pyxis and Omnicell.
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with heart conditions.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment.
• Assess patients and administer medications.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and cardiac emergencies.
• Work closely with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients on managing their heart health.
• Perform cardiac and telemetry monitoring and pulse oximetry monitoring.
• Support procedures and care including TEE, negative pressure isolation (AFB), thoracentesis/paracentesis, and dialysis.
• Administer continuous intravenous infusions and IV push medications for inpatient care per policy at Level 3.
• Float as needed and provide required call coverage and weekend coverage.
