About The Position

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is seeking an RN to provide patient care in an acute-care hospital or inpatient/observation setting. The Cardiac Tele unit has 30 beds and a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. The schedule is three 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., with work every third weekend. The RN assesses patients, develops and updates individualized plans of care, evaluates progress toward expected outcomes, and coordinates and documents care. The role includes collaborating with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team, advocating for patients and families, supporting team members and unit goals, and following applicable Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Meet mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health, Orlando Health, and the assigned unit or department.
Maintain a current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Nice To Haves

ACLS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC are required for certain areas; the posting does not specify whether these certifications apply to this position.

Responsibilities

Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.

Model professional conduct and support hospital and nursing department goals and strategies.
Coordinate care for a defined group of patients and delegate appropriately to other team members.
Document patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety in accordance with required and regulatory standards.
Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of patient care and unit equipment.
Prioritize care in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
Identify and resolve problems effectively.
Delegate tasks and duties according to patient needs and team members’ capabilities and qualifications.
Communicate relevant patient-condition information and unit concerns to other healthcare team members.
Provide a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Maintain awareness of legal issues and patients’ rights.
Collaborate with the education department and nursing leadership to support the transition of new team members and students.
Comply with Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Partner with nursing leadership to identify professional development needs.
