About The Position

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for a casual, part-time position working day shifts. This hospital is a full-service facility and the only verified Level III Trauma Center in its region, with a history of handling diverse health concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients. The role involves performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations using various imaging techniques and may include mentoring other sonographers or students.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimal experience as gained at student level.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required OR CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
• CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDE Cardiac 1 Year required
• CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular 1 Year required
• CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular 1 Year required

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients.
• Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound.
• May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.
