About The Position

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital, established in 1957, is a full-service hospital serving western Wayne communities. It is the only hospital in its service area verified as a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons. The hospital collaborates with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to manage a wide range of health concerns, including mass trauma and emergency patients.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimal experience as gained at student level.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required OR CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
• CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDE Cardiac 1 Year required
• CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular 1 Year required
• CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular 1 Year required

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients.
• Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound.
• May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.
