About The Position

Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and coworkers. This role involves monitoring and evaluating EKG tracings before, during, and after exercise testing. The Exercise Physiologist will supervise and coordinate exercise testing protocols, document changes in patient status, treatments, or prescribed medications and response to treatment. They will evaluate patients for stress testing, review patient charts, and interpret physician orders. The position requires the ability to terminate tests as may be required by protocols or patient tolerance. Additionally, the role includes coordinating and scheduling stress techs for adequate staffing, initiating service calls, scheduling preventative maintenance, and evaluating/ordering supplies. The Exercise Physiologist will use the computer system for charge and billing purposes, ensure physicians interpret EKGs, and complete documentation in the patient's electronic record. Responsibilities also include recording blood pressures and oxygen saturations, observing patient condition, and monitoring for indications of positive tests or other complications. Other work-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia course or challenge exam
  • BLS required
  • EKG course or certification required
  • ACLS required
  • Must complete Radiation Safety training within 1 month of hire and renew annually

Responsibilities

  • Initiate service calls as needed and schedule preventative maintenance when appropriate.
  • Evaluate supply levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Use computer system to process studies for charge and billing purposes to ensure physicians interpret EKGs, and to complete documentation in patient’s electronic record.
  • Record blood pressures and oxygen saturations, observe patient’s condition, and observe monitor for indications of positive tests or other complications.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested.
