Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Rehab
About The Position
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring an Exercise Physiologist for its Cardiac Rehab Department in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. This full-time, day-shift role assists in coordinating and implementing education and exercise therapy programs for people with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease. The position supports Phase I and II cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients by helping collect information for initial assessments, develop exercise plans, and create education plans about lifestyle modification. The Exercise Physiologist monitors and treats patients during exercise, helps modify exercise plans, and conducts patient education.
Requirements
- Bachelor-level degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science.
- Background in EKG/telemetry.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS certification within one year of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in a cardiopulmonary or cardiac clinic preferred.
- Patient assessment and testing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating and implementing education and exercise therapy programs for people with cardiovascular and pulmonary disease.
- Assist with collecting data for initial patient assessments.
- Assist in developing exercise plans and lifestyle-modification education plans for Phase I and II cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients.
- Monitor and treat patients during exercise.
- Assist with modifying exercise plans.
- Conduct patient education.
