The Cardiac Rehab Exercise Physiologist will interpret physiological data from stress tests to determine individualized exercise prescriptions. They will plan and implement treatment programs based on patient evaluation and modify exercise prescriptions based on cardiac symptomatology, exercise intolerance, or musculoskeletal/orthopedic issues. This role involves working with physicians to determine program eligibility and progression, establishing and presenting health education programs on exercise and risk factor reduction, and participating in patient conferences. The position also requires developing relationships with referral sources, placing electrodes for cardiac monitors, counseling patients on home programs and equipment, and assisting in cardiac emergencies. Additionally, the role may involve mentoring staff for certification, serving as a hospital consultant, monitoring outpatient groups, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
