About The Position

Emory Healthcare is seeking a capable Cardiac Registered Nurse / RN for the Internal Travel Team. This role offers flexibility to tailor work-life balance and involves travel between Emory locations. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in patient care, a sound understanding of cardiac patient populations, and the ability to deliver safe, dependable, and effective care independently. The role requires applying the Synergy Model for Care, effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams, and accurate documentation. The nurse will utilize patient/family input in care planning, evaluate patient responses, and advocate for patients based on their condition, while also considering cultural differences.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
2.5 years of recent and relevant nursing experience in Cardiac Nursing within past five years
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, FHM (relevant to role) required.

Nice To Haves

Professional certification in at least 1 relevant specialty area preferred.
Completion of professional certification in relevant specialty area required within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

Routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations.
Delivers safe, dependable and effective care to a patient population independently utilizing the nursing process
Able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family
Communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team
Documents the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format (e.g. computer, clinical pathway, chart)
Utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care
Evaluates patient's response to planned care and adjusts plan of care as appropriate.
Recognizes needs and advocates for patient based on knowledge of condition
Recognizes that cultural differences need to be considered in developing patient and family relationships (focus on identifying cultural norms)
