About The Position

Emory Healthcare is seeking a capable Cardiac Registered Nurse / RN for the Internal Travel Team. This role allows team members flexibility to tailor their work/life balance. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in patient care and a sound understanding of a particular patient population's care. The role involves routinely using acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations. The Cardiac RN will deliver safe, dependable, and effective care independently, utilizing the nursing process and applying the Synergy Model for Care. Responsibilities include communicating effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare teams, accurately documenting the nursing process, and utilizing patient/family input in care planning. The nurse will evaluate patient responses, adjust care plans as needed, advocate for patients based on their condition, and consider cultural differences in patient and family relationships.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
2.5 years of recent and relevant nursing experience in Cardiac Nursing within past five years
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, FHM (relevant to role) required.
Completion of professional certification in relevant specialty area required within 1 year of employment.

Nice To Haves

Professional certification in at least 1 relevant specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

Delivers safe, dependable and effective care to a patient population independently utilizing the nursing process
Able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family
Communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team
Documents the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format (e.g. computer, clinical pathway, chart)
Utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care
Evaluates patient's response to planned care and adjusts plan of care as appropriate.
Recognizes needs and advocates for patient based on knowledge of condition
Recognizes that cultural differences need to be considered in developing patient and family relationships (focus on identifying cultural norms)
