About The Position

Logan Health is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, Montana. The role prepares for and assists with procedures, operates and maintains diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, monitors and cares for patients, supports patient flow, and contributes to safety, quality, and accurate documentation. The technologist works with physicians and other healthcare professionals, including vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and radiologists. This is a full-time, 40-hour position with 10-hour day shifts on rotating days and call. Schedules may be adjusted to meet organizational needs. The successful candidate will maintain competency and quality-control standards, follow institutional policies and applicable practice standards and regulations, and continue education on current technology and trends in interventional cardiology and radiology. Specific duties may vary based on departmental needs.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, for the ARRT qualification pathway.
AART Certification in Radiology (R), or credentialing as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
Current Montana Radiologic Technology License, for the ARRT qualification pathway.
BLS certification.
ACLS certification, or successful completion of ACLS within six months of hire.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, critical thinking, and ability to set priorities.
Ability to function both as part of a team and independently.
Commitment to teamwork and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with varied audiences.
Interpersonal skills to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience in interventional cardiology.
At least one year of experience in interventional radiology.
At least one year of experience in radiology.
Cardiac-Interventional (CI) certification.
Vascular Interventional (VI) certification.

Responsibilities

Perform and review patient histories and respond to patients’ responses to diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Provide patient care in the lab as directed by the physician.
Assist with procedures performed by vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and radiologists.
Provide technical support before, during, and after procedures in accordance with institutional policy, ASRT Practice Standards, and Montana Code.
Operate and maintain diagnostic and therapeutic equipment according to vendor specifications and guidelines.
Monitor patients during procedures.
Assist with inventory maintenance for the Hybrid OR, Cath Lab, EP Lab, and/or interventional labs.
Set up procedure trays before procedures and participate in or coordinate patient care and flow.
Follow safety practices and ensure radiation safety for everyone entering the room.
Report malfunctioning equipment and errors, and document safety-related issues and outcomes according to department procedures and protocols.
Participate in developing and updating procedures and protocols.
Maintain technologist competency and quality-control standards.
Continue education and stay current with technology and trends in interventional cardiology and radiology.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
