About The Position

The Cardiac Cath Lab Manager plays a vital role in providing leadership and strategic direction for the development and operations of the SRHS Cardiac Cath Labs. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with the Nurse Management Team and various disciplines within the healthcare organization. Reporting to the Director of Cardiovascular Services, the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Cath Labs while also helping to develop and implement policies, procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. By providing leadership, strategic direction, and fostering collaborative relationships, the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager contributes to the delivery of high-quality care and positive patient outcomes. He/She will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating procedures and personnel to meet physician and patient needs while ensuring compliance with SRHS institutional goals and patient care standards, including those set by regulatory bodies such as DNV. He/She will set the tone for patient surroundings, influence the efficiency and safety of procedures, and participate in the observation and care of patients during catheterization. He/She will help develop the annual business plan, create budgets, set goals, and manage resources to achieve business objectives. He/She will help ensure quality metrics are on track and drive continuous improvement. The Cardiac Cath Lab Manager will serve as a liaison with physicians to ensure alignment and achievement of expected outcomes within the Cardiac Cath Lab service line. He/She will develop interdepartmental Performance Improvement activities to enhance the quality and efficiency of services provided within the Cardiac Cath Labs. The Cardiac Cath Lab Manager serves as a role model within the department, demonstrating a commitment to handling all matters involving self and others in a professional and impartial manner.

Requirements

Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi
Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer
Must maintain ACLS
Five (5) years of critical care and/or Cath lab nursing experience required
Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities
Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone
Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels
Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required
Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations
Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette
Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word
Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages
