Cardiac Arrhythmia Tech - Telemetry Technician
About The Position
Serve patients across mid-Michigan from our Jackson hospital campus, a trusted community anchor surrounded by lakes, parks, and small-town charm. As a Cardiac Arrhythmia Tech, you will play a critical role in monitoring and identifying normal and abnormal EKG rhythms using telemetry monitoring equipment. You will support patient care by notifying appropriate personnel in emergencies and maintaining cardiac monitoring equipment for all admitted, discharged, or transferred patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Successful completion of an arrhythmia course during the introductory period, including written and verbal testing.
- Demonstrated competency in operating telemetry monitoring equipment and troubleshooting.
- Ability to multitask and operate equipment in stressful or emergent situations.
Nice To Haves
- Previous health care experience such as EKG Technician, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Nursing Assistant, and/or education in cardiac monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and identify normal and abnormal EKG rhythms using telemetry equipment.
- Notify appropriate personnel in case of emergency situations.
- Maintain cardiac monitoring equipment for all patients.
- Operate telemetry central station monitoring equipment competently.
- Troubleshoot telemetry monitoring equipment as needed.
