About The Position

The Cardiac Anesthesiologist provides anesthesia care for cardiac, thoracic, vascular, structural heart, and general cases in an inpatient setting. The role includes clinical coverage and call, with a coverage period of November 23–29, 2026. The weekday schedule is Monday through Friday for 8–10-hour day shifts; call coverage includes nights and weekends. Callback time is 2–3 hours on weekdays and 1–2 hours on weekends. The position may occasionally involve supervising CRNAs.

The facility is a Level I trauma center with 187 beds, 15 operating rooms, 3 endoscopy suites, and 2 EP labs. It uses EPIC and handles approximately 360–450 cardiac cases annually. Patients are adults and geriatric patients. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Requirements

• Board certified (BC).
• Hold a Nebraska license or an IMLC license.
• TEE certification.
• Must have completed an approved cardiovascular anesthesia fellowship or have 5 years of documented cardiovascular anesthesia experience.
• Clean malpractice and background history.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart cases.
• Provide general anesthesia for general OR cases.
• Occasionally supervise CRNAs.
• Perform TEE procedures.
• Assist with general OR cases as needed.
