Captain Instructor - Freedom Boat Club
About The Position
We are excited to welcome a skilled and experienced boating professional to our team as a Captain. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing one-on-one training to members on the water. This includes training new members with varying levels of recreational boating experience and members who have been with our organization for some time. As a Captain, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our members have a safe and enjoyable boating experience. Your expertise and dedication will be greatly appreciated and valued as you evaluate members' proficiency in vessel handling and certify that they are competent to operate our boats safely. You'll also need to identify members who do not demonstrate proficiency and report this to management.
Requirements
- Skilled and experienced boating professional.
- Possess a Merchant Mariners Credential.
- Hold current medical certifications.
- Hold current CPR certifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one training to members on the water.
- Train new members with varying levels of recreational boating experience.
- Train members who have been with the organization for some time.
- Evaluate members' proficiency in vessel handling.
- Certify that members are competent to operate boats safely.
- Identify members who do not demonstrate proficiency and report to management.
- Maintain Merchant Mariners Credential and current medical and CPR certifications.
- Attend Captain's meetings and training.
