About The Position

You will work onsite at Conagra's Imlay City, Michigan, facility, home of Vlasic brand pickles, peppers and relish. The Capper Operator operates the briner/filler and the jar capping machine. You will monitor machine performance including the low vacuum and dud detector. You will start the equipment, clear misfeeds, and restart the machine. You will perform routine quality verifications observing standard work.

  • Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize production delays.
  • Ensure machine and surrounding area is kept neat and sanitary.
  • Adapt to changing situations.
  • Communicate with co-workers, Production Lead, QA, and Team Lead.
  • Train employees.
  • Complete documentation in compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Read and interpret a variety of instructions/documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ensure actions remain consistent with plant safety goals and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of both the capper and briner, while monitoring the performance of the low vacuum dud detector.
  • Work together with Production Leads and Team Leads to achieve line goals in quality, efficiency, and labor.
