About The Position

Cavendish Farms in Jamestown is hiring a student intern to support Engineering and Business Projects and service requests. The role provides hands-on experience in project coordination, supporting capital projects through tracking, reporting, documentation, procurement assistance, financial tracking, and coordination with site supervisors, project engineers, and contractors. The intern will also participate in team meetings, business projects, and professional development sessions, and help support the company's food safety, quality assurance, and safety programs.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university co-op program in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or Agricultural/Civil Engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite tools, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Desire to solve problems and work with others to map out processes and identify improvements.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English communication.
• Curiosity, drive for excellence, and a deep interest in technology.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of Jamestown Capital Projects and keep important documents organized.
• Build reports and analyze data related to Capital Projects.
• Assist with bid preparation, issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), comparing contractor quotes, and tracking material or equipment deliveries.
• Ensure projects follow company guidelines and are properly documented.
• Participate in team meetings, special business projects, and professional development sessions.
• Support site supervisors and project engineers with field status reports, contractor check-ins, and safety/compliance audits.
• Monitor capital expenditure tracking, analyze budget variances, and update financial models.
• Organize project documentation, update asset registries, and compile post-project evaluation reports.
• Participate in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Safety Programs by completing training, inspections, and peer-to-peer feedback, and assist in mitigating identified issues and concerns.
