About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Capital Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by leading capital engineering projects that support Growth, Cost Reduction, EHS improvement, and Equipment/Facility Renewal. You will lead diverse teams including electrical, facilities, design, technical experts, and operations to deliver project expectations. Utilize project engineering fundamentals (scope, budget, schedule, forecasting, communication, financial analysis) to deliver the best outcome for 3M. Leads engineering projects through multi-disciplinary teams. Integrates manufacturing and laboratory business issues/needs into project planning. Controls project costs and schedules, and presents project status and results to business partners, suppliers, team members and appropriate management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND three (3) year(s) of project management in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • OR Associates degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND five (5) year(s) of project management in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
  • Failure to provide the necessary information in this regard will result in our inability to consider you further for this particular position.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
  • History of successful execution of projects including final performance in the factory.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present project plans and status to management.
  • Team player with the ability to positively contribute to a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity industry practices.
