About The Position

The Engineer II optimizes interconnected components of a manufacturing system and develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on engineering issues. The role helps coordinate plant location, personnel workflow and ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts. It is based at 650 Industrial Park Drive in Blair, Nebraska. Relocation assistance is provided.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience leading capital projects.
Knowledge of SAP.
Mechanical, Chemical, or Agricultural/Biosystems Engineering degree.
Ability and desire to work hands-on in a fast-paced, technical plant environment.

Responsibilities

Lead or participate in developing capital project scope, schedules, and budgets while following project management deliverables and best practices.
Collaborate with manufacturing plant and facilities engineers on facility planning and design.
Conduct cost, inventory, production control, and human factors studies to develop and implement facility modification plans and revise operating methods.
Analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems involving manufacturing equipment and systems, including causes of component failures.
Design and improve manufacturing processes, instruments, and equipment, and test manufactured products to maintain quality.
Establish methods to maximize the use of production facilities and personnel.
Resolve moderately complex issues independently with minimal supervision and escalate more complex issues to appropriate staff.
