About The Position

PayJoy is seeking a motivated Capital Markets Manager to join our Capital Markets team. The Capital Markets Manager will assist with equity and debt raises, developing banking and debt investor relationships, building and maintaining financial models and developing strategic analysis, preparing marketing materials, managing rating agency and investor due diligence, as well as contributing to high-impact strategic projects. The ideal candidate must have strong financial analysis experience, be highly motivated, comfortable with ambiguity, capable of taking initiative, and driving results while effectively partnering with various stakeholders across the organization. Experience with consumer finance, structured, and capital markets is strongly preferred. Role will be located in New York, and in office at least 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, capital markets, and financial planning
  • 3-5 years experience in capital markets, investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, FP&A or related fields.
  • Strong financial modeling; ability to build and maintain complex, dynamic models independently, including investor models, cash flow waterfalls, and scenario/sensitivity analyses.
  • Team player who is able to collaborate across multiple groups internally, work on a variety of projects simultaneously and across multiple geographies.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • Creative, passionate about problem solving and solution orientation.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, SQL skills a plus. Python or other scripting/automation experience is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with structured finance products (ABS, whole loan sales, forward flow, warehouse facilities, HY bonds) is a plus.
  • Exposure to rating agency processes and credit structuring is a plus.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, or regulated industries is a plus
  • Knowledge of consumer lending products and fintech landscape is a plus
  • Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build analytical models to evaluate product, country and capital structure decisions including cost of capital, advance rates and liquidity planning for review with senior leadership.
  • Coordinate with FP&A teams and build and update the company forecast model for investors, gain a deep understanding of the key drivers and conduct analysis as needed
  • Support and contribute to PayJoy’s funding strategy of the existing loan book in LatAm and expansion into new markets in Africa and Asia.
  • Assist with preparedness for new funding sources - including corporate debt, securitizations, forward flow arrangements, local country financing structures. Support structuring workstreams and coordinate with rating agencies, trustees, legal counsel, and other external deal parties as needed.
  • Monitor and manage performance of existing credit facilities, including covenant compliance, borrowing base reporting, and lender communications.
  • Assist in acquiring new funding partners, transaction execution, and relationship management
  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis on funding trends, spreads, and market conditions relevant to PayJoy's financing strategy.
  • Prepare marketing materials and other presentations and reports as required to run the business, including for equity and debt raises. Support investor relations - investor engagement, manage data rooms and periodic updates with risk teams.
  • Contribute on projects such as M&A, country expansion planning, new product launches, capital raises, and similar.
  • Simplify and improve processes, drive standardization and automation, and build scalable solutions to facilitate PayJoy’s future growth
  • Synthesize and distill key financial and business insights to senior stakeholders and leadership - identify key financial metrics, analyze results, assess risk and communicate risks & opportunities
