About The Position

This role serves as the Capernaum Director for the Northwest Twin Cities area, focusing on students with disabilities aged 14-21. The Capernaum program aims to introduce these students to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about developing and strengthening the existing Capernaum Club, possess a passion for students with disabilities, and be eager to foster their spiritual growth. This position offers flexibility for full-time or part-time employment based on the candidate's fit, experience, and aspirations.

Requirements

• Currently on Young Life staff (internal applicants only, apply through Workday).
• Sign a Statement of Faith.
• Profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
• Subscribe to Young Life statements and policies.
• Be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions.
• Refrain from conduct and statements that detract from Young Life's biblical standards.
• Abide by all Young Life policies and practices.
• Experience in direct ministry.
• Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Spiritual Development: Foster a vibrant spiritual life through prayer, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth, and church relationships. Develop a yearly personal growth plan, seek and maintain relationships within a church community, and actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community. Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
• Leadership Development: Equip leaders, committee, and staff through key volunteer care, recruiting, team building, training, supervision, and vision casting. Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership. Recruit and train new leaders to build a diverse leadership team. Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping. Assist in training leaders, team leaders, and committee on effective teamwork and developing yearly ministry strategies.
• Resource Development: Fuel the ministry through events, major donor care, public relations, and the TDS team. Raise financial support and maintain good donor care practices. Communicate ministry updates to personal donor partners. Network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community, including principals, pastors, parents, and potential committee members. Plan and execute area fundraising events under the direction of an area supervisor and committee.
• Direct Ministry: Proclaim and model Young Life ministry through contact work, club, Campaigners, and camp. Actively engage in all three levels of contact work. Lead a team to plan and conduct a Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry with excellence. Lead a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy. Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
• Ministry Support: Manage accounting, administration, communication, data management, and strategic planning. Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism in office hours, dress, conduct, and time management. Manage finances with stewardship, accountability, and transparency using mission-wide applications. Maintain accurate records of kids, leaders, and donors. Provide clear, prompt, appropriate, and professional communication. Set yearly strategic ministry plans and initiatives to reach every kid, reviewing them regularly. Perform other duties as assigned.
