About The Position

The SIOP Capacity Planner is responsible for balancing customer demand with manufacturing and supply chain capabilities through the SIOP process. This role ensures that capacity, inventory, labor, and production resources are aligned to support business objectives, improve service levels, and enable profitable growth across one or more manufacturing facilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, production scheduling, capacity planning, or operations planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain capacity plans that support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process across manufacturing facilities.
  • Align demand forecasts with manufacturing capacity, labor availability, equipment resources, and inventory strategies.
  • Analyze supply and demand gaps and identify short-term and long-term capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Procurement, and Finance to create balanced and executable plans.
  • Lead capacity reviews as part of the monthly SIOP cycle, providing recommendations to address risks and opportunities.
  • Model various demand and production scenarios to evaluate impacts on capacity, inventory, customer service, and costs.
  • Coordinate production allocation across multiple plants to maximize utilization and meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor key metrics, including capacity utilization, forecast accuracy, inventory levels, production attainment, and on-time delivery.
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend actions such as overtime, staffing changes, production transfers, inventory builds, or capital investments.
  • Support new product introductions, business growth initiatives, and manufacturing footprint optimization efforts.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that provide visibility to capacity risks, resource requirements, and performance trends.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and SIOP effectiveness.
