About The Position

Solidarity Strategies is hiring entry-level Canvassers in McAllen, Texas, for a campaign program focused on increasing voter participation and ensuring community voices are heard. Canvassers will speak with voters at their doors, share information about the campaign and election, and record conversations using tools such as MiniVAN. No prior experience is required, and paid training must be completed before field work begins. Flexible full-time and part-time shifts are available, including evenings and weekends, with a minimum availability of 12 hours per week.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must have a smartphone with mobile data and access to apps.
Must have access to reliable transportation.
Must have flexible availability of at least 12 hours per week.
Must complete paid program training before beginning field work.
Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with new people.
Friendly, reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
Comfortable working outdoors in Texas heat and other weather and walking for extended periods.
Tech-savvy and able to use a smartphone for data entry and navigation.
Problem-solving skills for efficient route planning.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
Prior canvassing, campaign, nonprofit, or community outreach experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Go door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods.
Talk with voters and share information about the campaign and election.
Accurately collect and record data using MiniVAN.
Submit daily reports and check in with a supervisor.
Represent the campaign and its values professionally and respectfully.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Director or Field Organizers.
