About The Position
Ensures the safety and security of patients, guests, employees, and property by enforcing policies and procedures in a professional and courteous manner. The role includes general security duties and specialized canine handling responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license if required to operate Sutter Health vehicles.
- Proprietary Private Security Officer (PSO) certification.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
- K-9 training within 90 days of hire.
- Five years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
- Three years of experience as a certified K-9 handler.
- Proficiency in computer and Windows-based applications for data entry and information retrieval.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical knowledge of canine behavior, handling techniques, and emergency first aid for canines.
- Ability to recognize and differentiate between canine and zoonotic diseases communicable to humans.
- Knowledge of Adam’s Law and Megan’s Law.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Basic knowledge of criminal and civil laws and investigative procedures.
