About The Position

Ensures the safety and security of patients, guests, employees, and property by enforcing policies and procedures in a professional and courteous manner. The role includes general security duties and specialized canine handling responsibilities. The successful candidate is expected to work overtime on a regular basis.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license required to operate Sutter Health vehicles.
Obtain a Proprietary Private Security Officer certification within 30 days of the start date.
Complete K-9 training within 90 days of hire.
Five years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
Three years of experience as a certified K-9 handler.
Proficiency in computer and Windows-based applications for data entry and information retrieval.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Technical knowledge of canine behavior, handling techniques, and emergency first aid for canines.
Ability to recognize and differentiate between canine and zoonotic diseases communicable to humans.
Knowledge of Adam’s Law and Megan’s Law.
Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain composure in stressful situations.
Basic knowledge of criminal and civil laws and investigative procedures.
