About The Position

Accenture Technology is seeking individuals for the Indigenous (FNIM) Apprenticeship Program, an "earn and learn" initiative designed for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. This program offers salary, comprehensive training, and valuable real-world experience in a supportive environment. Participants will receive personalized coaching to build entry-level skills and advance their careers, alongside a strong community network of FNIM mentors, peers, and role models. This is a full-time, year-long position with the potential for continued employment and growth opportunities beyond the program's completion. We welcome individuals who honor and value the unique identities, histories, and strengths of FNIM peoples, encouraging them to bring their whole selves and community knowledge to our team.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be of First Nations, Inuit or Métis heritage or descent.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ready for on-the-job training.
  • Enjoy learning new things and are excited to get hands-on experience in an innovative workplace.
  • Looking to start a new career journey, even if previous experience is in a completely different field.

Nice To Haves

  • A high-school diploma, GED/ equivalent or an associate’s degree (without a bachelor’s degree).
  • A strong track record of good grades.
  • Ability to look at problems holistically, analytically and creatively.
  • Comfortable speaking up and sharing thoughts in person and in writing.
  • Curiosity about business and technology and a desire to constantly learn.
  • Experience being on a team –– at school, North American Indigenous Games, PowWow Drumming, coaching, band councilor or being a team member at another job, or in the military.
  • Exposure to a minimum of one programming language (e.g., Java, Javascript, C, C++, C#, SQL, Python, etc.).
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Exposure to advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables, v-look ups, macros.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technology solutions that make a difference to business, society, and the environment.
  • Join a diverse and inclusive team, filled with different Accenture teammates from around the world.
  • Learn programming skills to build portions of applications that solve our client's business and IT challenges.
  • Actively work in delivering large IT solutions to clients on time and within budget.
  • Learn about every stage of the Service Delivery Lifecycle –– from new system rollouts to enhancements to ongoing maintenance of applications.
  • Closely analyze and test any new components or enhancements to existing IT modules.
  • Talk with team members to design solutions that meet end users’ needs and technical requirements.
  • Define, design and deliver new applications with your teammates.
  • Write the programming code that brings new apps to life.
  • Develop the system details and interfaces.
  • Fix any bugs that creep into any old or new code.
  • Make sure critical systems continue running for our clients by maintaining the software code.
  • Analyze basic tech issues and stop the damage.
  • Keep well-written records describing how the software works, any special configurations, and how to troubleshoot.
  • Support implementation of new technologies, ensuring a successful transition to what’s new.
