About The Position

The purpose of this role is to welcome and engage with prospective high school students on GCU Day visits, creating an energizing environment and providing high-quality visitation experience. Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment: Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program. Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA. Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. Requirements

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, proactive, self-assured, organized, and dependable.
  • Comfortable initiating and carrying conversations with high school students.
  • Outstanding customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for GCU’s campus life and community.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking on occasion.
  • Must have at least two weekdays with 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM availability.
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate conversations, build rapport, and maintain high energy throughout the day to ensure GCU Day students feel welcomed and included.
  • Collaborates professionally with GCU and GCE staff, as well as prospective students and chaperones.
  • Implements effective communication and presentation strategies to represent GCU's academic excellence and student life.
  • Assist with check-in, transitions between scheduled activities, meal coordination, and other behind-the-scenes needs as directed.
  • Fast learner who works independently and completes required tasks with the highest quality of work.
