About The Position

The Campus Supervisor assists in providing a safe and secure school environment for students, staff, and the community. This role involves supervising students on school grounds, mentoring and supporting students through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), monitoring and reinforcing pro-social behavior, maintaining discipline, and cooperating with school personnel and law enforcement. The Campus Supervisor may also oversee after-school programs and activities, implement Restorative Practices, and work collaboratively with other campus supervisors.

Requirements

Completion of twelfth grade.
Completion of school security officer course of training approved by Bureau of Security and Investigative Services of California Department of Consumer Affairs.
Knowledge of and ability to implement Restorative Practices.
Knowledge of or ability to learn appropriate laws, school safety procedures, and district policies and procedures.
Ability to work with students in school setting.
Ability to use good judgment, poise, and tact when working with students, staff, and community.
Ability to communicate effectively and write concise, accurate, and professional quality reports.
Ability to supervise work of others.
Willingness to work irregular and flexible hours and/or weekends.
Valid California driver's license and personal automobile for use on District business.

Two letters of recommendation (Signed and dated within one (1) year of filing deadline).
Evidence of completion of school security officer course (SB1626) of training approved by Bureau of Security and Investigative Services of California Department of Consumer Affairs.
Copies of required certificates, transcripts or diplomas may be submitted with application.
Verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
Complete and accurate list of every school district, county office of education, charter school, and/or state special school (Local Educational Agencies (LEA)) where the applicant has previously worked, regardless of the length of service, including full-time, part-time and substitute employment.

Responsibilities

Supervises students on school grounds, including corridors, restrooms, parking lots, and adjacent areas for the purpose of enforcing rules and regulations pertaining to student attendance, behavior, and conduct.
Mentors and supports students as assigned through the site's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) team.
Monitors and supports appropriate pro-social behavior and reinforces school rules and procedures directed by the principal.
Maintains discipline and order on campus and at school activities as assigned.
Intercedes in and resolves student conflicts such as bullying, fights, and arguments.
Cooperates with school personnel and law enforcement agencies in the prevention, control, and investigation of school safety threats and illegal activities by persons or groups directed against district students, personnel, or facilities.
Supervises after school programs.
Supervises noontime, after school, evening, and weekend activities as assigned by the principal.
Recognizes and implements the tenets of Restorative Practices involving students and staff.
Understands and implements the practice of Professional Learning Communities and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Works in a collaborative Professional Learning Community with campus supervisors from other campuses to identify best practices, develop professionally, and improve social-emotional, behavioral, and safety systems and structures within the District's MTSS model.
Attends and participates in trainings related to student behavior, nonviolent crisis intervention, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and other related trainings as assigned.
May supervise the work of designated staff members as assigned by the principal.
Maintains inventory of assigned school equipment and supplies.
Models personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
