The University of Washington Police Department (UWPD) has an outstanding opportunity for a Campus Safety Responder. Reporting to the Campus Security Services Manager, the Campus Safety Responder is responsible for responding to public calls for service within a diverse community, providing various services, supporting law enforcement officers, interfacing with campus stakeholders on safety matters, acting as an ambassador for safety, and advocating for University regulations. Campus Safety Responders conduct criminal and traffic investigations, prepare documentation, and testify in court. They also provide safety and security for persons and property at University events and attend community meetings. The role involves general duty security work to protect life and property, promote safety and order, encourage compliance with laws and regulations, and enforce them as necessary. Responders address crimes and accidents on campus, maintain order, prevent and investigate crime, and serve as a safety ambassador. They are responsible for enforcing campus regulations and laws, and may be required to complete a law enforcement course and other job-specific training.
