Responsibilities

  • Support the mission and role of Pomerene Hospital within the organization and community.
  • Demonstrate support of the hospital's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan in a team-oriented environment.
  • Perform all job duties in compliance with laws, regulations, and accrediting agency standards.
  • Maintain professionalism in physical appearance and behavioral presentation.
  • Move throughout the facility as needed, appropriately assist in emergency drills and situations, and demonstrate the physical, clinical, and professional capacity to provide direct patient care.
  • Coordinate patient care as assigned, including assessing and interpreting patient care information and data.
  • Provide appropriate patient and family education.
  • Work cooperatively with unit staff, physicians, and ancillary departments.
  • Maintain high standards for professional nursing practice.
  • Perform all tasks and duties according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
  • Actively support and encourage Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient.
  • Include PSP / family members in discussions of nursing plan of care, medications, consultations with physicians, and discharge instructions.
  • Encourage PSP / family member presence at the patient's bedside and participation in the patient's care.
