About The Position

Southern Company Talent Acquisition – Campus Recruiting is seeking an energized, full-time Campus Recruiter to help drive our campus recruiting strategy and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. In this role, you will play a key part in attracting and hiring top talent from colleges and universities. You will partner closely with business leaders, career services teams, and fellow recruiters to design and execute high-impact recruiting strategies. You’ll plan and represent Southern Company at both in-person and virtual events—career fairs, information sessions, and professional development workshops—building strong connections with candidates. You will also develop and sustain relationships with career services offices, faculty, and student organizations to strengthen our presence and brand on campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related discipline required
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of campus recruiting or recruiting experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience supporting students or recent graduates (e.g., recruiting, career services, coaching, or supervision) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong consultative approach with strategic thinking, problem-solving, influence, and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult, influence, and partner effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Participation in university and/or community recruiting events is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of ATS platforms (including Oracle HCM preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently—verbally and in writing—with students, university partners, and hiring leaders.
  • Manage multiple events, timelines, and stakeholders with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Build trust quickly and sustain strong relationships with a wide range of partners and candidates.
  • Evaluate qualifications accurately and make sound recommendations aligned to role requirements.
  • Comfortable working in applicant tracking systems (ATS) , Oracle preferred, and related recruiting tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting students or recent graduates (e.g., recruiting, career services, coaching, or supervision) is strongly preferred.
  • Participation in university and/or community recruiting events is preferred.
  • Oracle HCM preferred

Responsibilities

  • Host Career Events: Lead the planning and execution of engaging on-campus and in-house events and represent Southern Company at college career fairs to connect with high-potential candidates.
  • Screen Candidates: Review resumes, conduct structured interviews, and coordinate skills assessments for internships and early-career roles.
  • Build Relationships: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with hiring managers, universities, career services teams, faculty, and student organizations to expand engagement and visibility.
  • Promote the Employer Brand: Serve as a brand ambassador—communicating our culture, opportunities, and value proposition to students and recent graduates.
  • Track and Report Metrics: Monitor key recruiting metrics and provide insights to continuously improve strategy, outreach, and results. Ideal candidate will have experience with Oracle and Power BI
