About The Position

The Campus Pastor provides spiritual, relational, and organizational leadership for their assigned CBC campus. This person is responsible for carrying the mission, vision, values, and culture of CBC into the campus while leading staff, developing leaders, building teams, connecting with the community, and creating environments where people can take their next step with Jesus. The Campus Pastor serves as the primary leader and culture carrier of the campus while remaining fully aligned with CBC Nav Leadership and the overall direction of the church.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of Scripture and the ability to communicate biblical truth accurately and effectively.
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity, sound judgment, integrity, and humility.
  • Builds authentic, appropriate, and trust-based relationships with Members, Volunteers, and Staff.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively through teaching, preaching, written communication, meetings, presentations, and interpersonal connections.
  • Highest level of personal integrity with an uncompromised commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy of all matters.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Bible, Theology, Christian Ministry, Education or a related field from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent ministry experience may be considered.
  • Experience developing and implementing ministry programs, events, discipleship strategies, and volunteer development processes.
  • Must demonstrate a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and be willing to support and consistently represent the church’s missions, values, statement of faith, and ministry philosophy.
  • Experience as a Huddle leader is recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and protect the mission, vision, values, culture, and direction of CBC.
  • Provide spiritual and organizational leadership for the campus.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and care for campus staff while establishing clear priorities, creating accountability, solving problems, and moving ministry forward.
  • Build intentional relationships with guests, families, volunteers, key leaders, donors, and people throughout the campus.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the community and develop meaningful relationships with community leaders and organizations.
  • Serve as a clear and confident communicator of CBC’s vision, Scripture, ministry opportunities, and next steps.
  • Provide effective leadership during weekend services through host moments, prayer, huddles, and other campus-wide communication.
  • Work collaboratively with Nav Leadership, Ministry Teams, other Campus Pastors, and campus staff to maintain alignment and consistency across CBC.
  • Implement church-wide strategies, ministry playbooks, and initiatives at the campus level.
  • Recruit, develop, and empower volunteers and leaders.
  • Create a culture where people move from attending to serving, from serving to leading, and from leading to developing other leaders.
  • Effectively manage the people, ministries, priorities, and responsibilities of the campus.
  • Lead through multiple competing needs while maintaining organization, excellence, follow-through, and focus on the mission.
  • Own the overall weekend campus experience, ensuring staff, volunteers, and ministry environments are prepared to serve people with excellence.
  • Provide visible pastoral leadership throughout the campus by connecting with new people, encouraging volunteers, praying with those in need, and helping people take their next step.
  • Empower staff and volunteer leaders to take ownership of their ministry areas, solve problems, and make appropriate decisions.
  • Lead regular staff meetings and one-on-ones focused on prayer, celebrating wins, reviewing metrics, leadership development, accountability, and clear next steps.
  • Review campus metrics and ministry trends to evaluate effectiveness, identify opportunities for growth, and establish appropriate lead measures.
  • Develop staff through regular coaching, performance conversations, and individual development plans.
  • Participate in donor development through intentional relationships, meetings, calls, and follow-up.
  • Continually invest in personal spiritual and leadership development while modeling humility, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission, vision, and ministry of CBC.
