About The Position

The Central Campus Kids Pastor is responsible for leading the Kids ministry teams of Community Bible Church to minister to children (birth through 5th grade). This role involves recruiting, training, and empowering staff and volunteer leaders. The Kids Pastor is expected to serve as an ambassador for Kids Ministry to other departments of CBC and participate on the ministry operations leadership team. Key responsibilities include overseeing hiring and alignment of staff, envisioning and planning new projects with long-term goals and strategy, and establishing the cultural architecture for the ministry. This position requires holding weekly staff meetings, overseeing key leaders through personal discipleship, goal-setting, accountability, problem-solving, and leadership coaching. The role also involves overseeing, protecting, and promoting the doctrinal integrity of Kids staff and programming, developing relationships with parents for guidance, and coordinating communication for the children's ministry through various channels. Additionally, the Kids Pastor will help develop systems aligned with the organizational structure, partner with parents in discipleship, communicate the vision and strategy of Kids ministries, and maintain administrative duties such as email, reports, and budgeting. Networking with other churches and Kids pastors is expected to stay current with trends. The role includes prayer and preparation for large group teaching, writing and editing teaching guides, ensuring the quality and safety of kids’ environments, administering budgets, and supervising Kids’ ministry during weekend services and Wednesday midweek activities. Maintaining partnerships with other departments and personal accountability with staff members are also crucial. Daily disciplines of Bible study, prayer, and preparation are required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee hiring, alignment, and responsibilities of key staff.
  • Envision and plan new projects, including long-term goal and strategy planning.
  • Responsible for cultural architecture for the ministry as a whole, casting vision for both staff and volunteers.

  • Coordinate communication for the children’s ministry through social media, emails, etc.

  • Partner with parents to help them become Disciples of Christ, with the purpose of evangelism and discipleship.
  • Communicate the overall vision, goals, and strategy of the Kids ministries to the parents and the church.
  • Maintain regular administrative duties, i.e. (email, reports, budgeting, etc.).
  • Network with other churches and Kids pastors to stay current with church trends.
  • Prayer and preparation for large group teaching.
  • Writing and editing of various teaching guides and worksheets for ministry activities.
  • Ensure the overall quality and safety of all kids’ environments and facilities.
  • Administer budgets within the Birth’- 5th grade departments.
  • Supervise Kids’ ministry during weekend service hours and Wednesday midweek activities.
  • Maintain a partnership with other departments and ministries to ensure organizational clarity.
  • Maintain personal accountability and relationships with staff members.
  • Maintain daily disciplines of Bible study, prayer and preparation.
