About The Position
Vanguard Classical School is seeking a Campus Monitor to help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for students. The role supports student safety and well-being during the school day in hallways, classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas. The Campus Monitor serves as a positive role model, encourages respectful behavior, and helps foster a safe, orderly, and caring campus environment. The position is part of a team dedicated to academic excellence and students’ personal growth. The school holds classes four days a week, which it says allows greater flexibility and collaboration among staff. Employment is contingent on completing the required criminal background clearance. New hires must provide documented evidence of identity and eligibility to work in the United States at orientation.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students in hallways, common areas, playgrounds, and during arrival and dismissal.
- Enforce school rules and procedures to help ensure student safety.
- Promote positive social interactions and help resolve minor conflicts.
- Report incidents, injuries, or behavioral concerns to school leadership.
- Observe visitors and ensure doors are secure to support campus security.
- Support transitions between classes, recess, lunch, and dismissal.
- Maintain a positive, approachable, and professional demeanor.
