About The Position

The Campus Monitor supports the instructional process by ensuring the safety and welfare of students during non-classroom activities, minimizing the frequency and severity of harmful incidents, and communicating observations or incidents that may affect the well-being of students, school personnel, or visitors. This is a 10-month school-year position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Criminal Justice/fingerprint clearance.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring campus foot traffic.
Communicate safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, staff, and visitors.
Intervene in potential conflicts and emergency situations.
Maintain a variety of files and records, such as schedules and guidelines.
Monitor video surveillance systems as requested.
Monitor student behavior during and between assigned periods in locations such as restrooms, playgrounds, hallways, the library, cafeteria, and bus zones.
Participate in unit meetings, in-service training, and workshops.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Prepare written materials, such as incident reports and activity logs.
Refer incidents—including personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, and rule violations—to appropriate site personnel.
Respond to inquiries from a variety of sources regarding campus security issues.
Respond to situations such as accidents, injuries, vandalism, suspicious activities, and alarms.
