About The Position

Campus Ministers at Boston College promote the University’s Jesuit, Catholic mission by working collaboratively to offer opportunities for worship, retreats, service-immersion, and fellowship. This requires the ability to provide both pastoral care and spiritual guidance to students, faculty, and staff in the University community. Additionally, this position will maintain primary responsibility for developing and leading a new signature senior retreat program, offered initially once each semester, with a vision for future expansion. Additionally, the role will oversee and grow graduate student ministry through programs that foster community, spiritual formation, pastoral support, and vocational discernment for Boston College’s graduate and professional student population. The position will also coordinate and expand Study by the Sea retreats and other accessible retreat opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. The role will work closely with Campus Ministry colleagues and university partners to build pathways between ongoing faith formation and lifelong spiritual practice, helping students discern how to carry forward and deepen the habits, commitments, and relationships nurtured during their time at Boston College. This includes managing program logistics, supervising graduate assistants as assigned,and creatively developing initiatives that deepen Campus Ministry’s impact during key moments of transition in students’ lives.

Requirements

  • Catholic, with an affinity for and understanding of Ignatian spirituality and Catholic social teaching.
  • Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field, strongly preferred.
  • At least one year of post-graduate experience in university / high school campus ministry, or equivalent work experiences.
  • Strong communication and organization skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
